Woman, 23, shot in head by Brooklyn Bridge Park

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — A 23-year-old woman was fatally shot in the head by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Monday night, police said.

Police received a 911 call about he shooting around 9:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Joralemon Street at Brooklyn Bridge Park. When they arrived, they found the woman lying on the sidewalk on 360 Furman Street, unconscious and unresponsive, according to police. She had a gunshot wound to the head.

The woman, who was later identified as Michelle Marks, of Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police sources said Marks knew the person who shot her.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Over the weekend, Drake dropped plenty of new music on his OVO Sound Radio station. On his one hour set, the rapper dropped three new tracks such as Justin Bieber’s “One Dance” remix, his new collab with Gucci Mane and the solo record, “4pm In Calabasas.” 

However, out of all the new music it looks like his “4pm in Calabasas” track is making the most noise, as on the track he gives a special shoutout to Diddy and the Bad Boy family. Although Diddy and Drake supposedly put their differences behind them from their Miami run-in, Drizzy apparently had some things to get off his chest. He even directed a few bars at Joe Budden who called VIEWS uninspiring.

On Saturday night, Drake blessed his OVO Sound Radio show with a one-hour guest DJ set. In that time, he premiered three new records from himself, including Justin Bieber’s “One Dance” remix, hisnew collab with Gucci Mane and the solo record, “4pm In Calabasas.” It’s the latter that’s making the most noise by far. 

You don’t need to hear the entire song to realize Drizzy is going IN on this record, seemingly finding the “inspiration” that Joe Budden was accusing him of lacking on Views on his now-infamous podcast episode. Joe himself noted this, tweeting “Sounded inspired,” while live-streaming Drake’s DJ set.

So what is he saying that’s so note-worthy on the track? Well for starters, he appears to be taking multiple shots at Diddy – who if you’ll recall, he got into a scuffle with in Miami a while back. 

Joe has since responded and is seemingly loving the new music, and doesn’t appear to have any plans to diss him back. He does, however, encourage Diddy to do so. Judging by Diddy’s IG post around the same time though, he doesn’t seem to have that on his agenda. Check out the posts in the gallery.

Kimbo Slice has died ... has confirmed. He was 42. 

We broke the story, Slice was hospitalized early Monday near his home in Coral Springs, FL. He passed away a short time later. 

The CEO of Bellator MMA confirmed the news ... saying, "We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family.'

"One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport."

"Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. HIs loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo's friends, fans and teammates."

Details surrounding Kimbo's death are unclear. We're working on it. 

Kimbo -- real name Kevin Ferguson -- last fought at Bellator 149 back in February and defeated Dada 5000 -- but the victory was overturned when Slice tested positive for a banned steroid. 

Back in 2003, Slice became an Internet sensation for his backyard fighting videos -- destroying several opponents in unsanctioned street fights. He later signed a deal to fight in the UFC. 

Slice competed on "The Ultimate Fighter" in 2009 ... and while his MMA career never really blossomed, he was undefeated as a boxer, with a 7-0 record. 

Slice also did some acting -- appearing in 2012's "The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption."

More Than 100 Arrested During Largest Gang Takedown in New York City History

 

Following a 16-month investigation into a recent spike in violence, New York City officials have now claimed the biggest gang takedown in the city's history. 120 arrests were made during early morning raids near the Eastchester Gardens housing complex, according to the New York Daily News. "If you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, you could be shot, stabbed, and even killed," U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara told reporters of the region's recent troubles.

Nearly 700 NYPD officers were joined by federal agents via armored vehicles and helicopters during the raids, with ABC News reporting that rival gangs 2Fly YGz and Big Money Bosses were "taken down from top to bottom" during the massive operation. "We bring these charges so that all New Yorkers, including those in public housing, can live their lives as they deserve: free of drugs, free of guns, and free of gang violence," Bharara said of the charges, which include as many as five homicides.

Sadie Mitchell, 92, was reportedly watching TV inside her Bronx residence in 2009 when a stray bullet from one of those believed to have been arrested during Wednesday's raids entered her living room window. That bullet, ABC Newsreports, ultimately punctured Mitchell's lung and resulted in her death. Jeffrey Belmore, 15, is also believed to have been stabbed to death by one gang member in May of last year.

The Daily News lists additional charges brought against the gang members as including robbery, credit card fraud, conspiracy, and illegal Oxycodone trade. "If you live in public housing, you also have the right to live in a clean and safe development," federal prosecutors told reporters. "It's clear that many are not getting that." Additional suspects are believed to remain at large after successfully evading authorities during Wednesday's operation.
