Plies Arrested for DUI in Florida, Released on a $500 Bond

                                   

According to the Hillsborough County Sherrif's Office, rapper Plies was arrested for driving under the influence, Tuesday [Jan. 17]. The 40-year-old rapper was stopped by police around 2:48 a.m. and later released on a $500 cash bond. It seems the rapper is doing well and since has tweeted about possibly going to the Falcons game this weekend.

In a 12-minute long video uploaded to social media on Tuesday, January 17, FOX News reporter Lisa Evers confirmed much of what had been swirling the internet rumor mill about the Irving Plaza shooting, dating back to Troy Ave's arrest in connection to the May 2016 incident.

Throughout the lengthy recording, Evers goes over the federal complaint paperwork she has retrieved from authorities and goes over how authorities believe the incident unfolded, detail by detail. Evers' release of the report comes one day after police arrested "Tax Season" podcast host Taxstone in connection with the shooting.

Eight months after Troy Ave was nailed with attempted murder and gun possession charges, it appears that prosecutors will now pursue the murder charge they cleared Troy of weeks after the incident. Evers lays out the case prosecutors are looking to make in order to get a conviction for the murder of Ronald "Banga" McPhatter that took place inside of the concert hall's green room. According to the report, forensics claim the finger prints on the grip, trigger, and butt of the 9mm semi-automatic kel-tec to match Taxstone's.

Soulja Boy Dropped a New Diss Track Targeted at 50 Cent and Chris Brown

                                    

Another day, another shot fired by Soulja Boy.

On Sunday, the “Crank That” rapper released a new track called “Hit Em With the Draco,” which takes some not-so-subtle jabs at Chris Brown and 50 Cent.

“Ayy 50 Cent what you talking about?/You made all that money off Vitamin Water and then filed for bankruptcy/You know I'ma knock Chris Brown out when I see him,” Soulja says in the intro. Don’t worry, it gets worse.

The rapper then immediately goes into the chorus, which is nothing more than him repeating “hit ‘em with the draco.” Those who are familiar with Soulja’s work, know the draco is the mini AK-47 that he’s trying to capitalize off of.

The “King Of The South” delivers some powerful words on Martin Luther King Day.

T.I. was at home enjoying the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday like the rest of us. Until he saw that King’s eldest son, Martin Luther King III aka MLK3 took a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at the Trump Tower. Trump did not address media or talk about the meeting, but he did make sure that cameras were on hand to capture the both of them shaking hands. King III told the New York Times that the meeting was “constructive.”

After seeing that MLK3 was the latest prominent African-American figure to take a meeting with Trump, on the King holiday at that, this prompted T.I. to not only call out King III, but Kanye West, Ray Lewis, Jim Brown and Steve Harvey as well.

To let T.I. tell it, the meetings are all a part of a Willie Lynch “divide and conquer” scheme being put into action by the Trump administration.

“Do not accept any invitation to have any meetings, no matter how positive you think the outcome may be,” he warns. He goes on to advise Black celebrities against any further meetings with Trump unless they have a clear cut strategy or are accompanied by someone like Rep. John Lewis. If not, T.I. feels that it’s simply a photo op.

Taxstone Arrested in Connection to 2016 Irving Plaza Shooting

In May of 2016, Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave was injured in a shooting at Irving Plaza that left his bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter dead. No arrests were made in the following months, but on Monday (Jan. 16), podcast personality Taxstone was apprehended by police and arrested in Brooklyn in relation to the shooting.

NBC reports that U.S. Marshals New York and New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Taxstone, born Darryl Campbell, in Brooklyn this morning. Sources tell NBC he was wanted for a federal warrant that charged him with being a felon in possession of a firearm, but he was also being sought by the NYPD in connection to the Irving Plaza shooting.

According to the New York Times, a federal complaint sworn out by Detective Jose Flores of the New York Police Department says what is believed to be Campbell’s DNA was found on the gun that killed Banga and injured Troy Ave during that Irving Plaza shooting. It’s the same gun Troy is seen firing in the footage that spread across the internet; the man at the bottom of the video is said to be Taxstone. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information informed XXL that along with unknown federal charges, Taxstone is also facing criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

The shooting occurred in a green room on the third floor of the venue where a fistfight broke out and escalated to gunfire. Footage from inside the green room emerged soon after the news broke, and the shooter was said to be captured on surveillance footage, but no arrests have been made until now.

Following the shooting, Troy Ave was arraigned on charges including attempted murder after footage showed him shooting back at somebody in Irving Plaza. He and his lawyers have since maintained his innocence, claiming self defense. They have also filed a lawsuit against Irving Plaza and Live Nation for lax security.

Just weeks ago, Troy Ave was shot again, this time while sitting in a red Maserati on his way to visit family in Brooklyn. 50 Cent visited the BK rapper in the hospital as he recovered.
